"Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it.”
-Tori Amos

The symbol of the turtle was provided to Camp Courage by artist David Armstrong, and signifies healing, protection and courage.

Camp Volunteers

Support volunteers set up the "hot dog and S'more station" by the
campfire.
The two nurses who volunteered for our weekend camp in May 2009, Terina and Sadie, stand in front of the Med Shed.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you are looking for a way to get involved in a worthwhile cause and help children overcome their grief due to a loss of someone very close to them, this may be the ideal volunteer opportunity. Whether you’re a man or woman, a young adult or more mature — we’ll help you find a home for that need to “give back to the community”.

Volunteer Qualifications

All volunteers are required to complete an application, interview, and orientation.

Volunteer Opportunities include:

A certified archery instructor volunteers his time to keep the archery range activity safe.

We could not offer Camp Courage and the Pre-Camp and Post-Camp Grief Support Groups without the support of our wonderful volunteers! These men and women make a difference in the lives of children by giving their time and encouragement during our bereavement camps.
